چکیده

Abstract In this work, deep eutectic solvent (DES) based on imidazole and triethylmethylammonium chloride was used as a reaction medium for the esterification of cellulose nanofiber (CNF) all-cellulose composite (ACC) films with n-octylsuccinic anhydride (OSA) to obtain high strength sustainable increased hydrophobicity. Diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy X-ray photoelectron were prove success modification. The mechanical modified analyzed in dry, humid, wet conditions, hydrophobicity indicated terms contact angle measurements. addition, water absorption transparency characterized. modification proven be simple fast, mild conditions 80 °C temperature 1 h time used. DES/OSA- CNF film exhibited better properties compared reference film, DES/OSA-modified ACC displayed notable higher state that (31 MPa tensile 6.1% strain at break vs. 18 2.2%, respectively). These improvements partly attributed angles (ACC-DES/OSA 60° CNF-DES/OSA 51°) (37°). Graphic abstract

Efficient Synthesis of Dihydropyrimidine and Amidoalkyl Naphthol Derivatives Using Zinc Chloride-Based Deep Eutectic Systems as Solvent & Catalyst

Dihydropyrimidine and amidoalkyl naphthol derivatives have been prepared efficiently in a one-pot synthesis using ZnCl2/urea and ZnCl2/acetamide deep eutectic systems as reaction medium and homogeneous catalyst. This method offers some advantages such as simple procedure, inexpensive solvent and catalyst and good yields of the final products in short reaction times. The use of non-toxic and env...

Surface Modification of Nanocellulose towards Composite Applications

The desire to develop high-value end-products derived from renewable resources is continuously growing as a result of environmental awareness and the depletion of fossil resources. In this context, nanocelluloses have gained great interest during recent decades owing to their renewability, abundancy and remarkable physical and mechanical properties. The aim of the present work was to investigat...

A Nanocellulose Polypyrrole Composite Based on Microfibrillated Cellulose from Wood

It is demonstrated that it is possible to coat the individual fibers of wood-based nanocellulose with polypyrrole using in situ chemical polymerization to obtain an electrically conducting continuous high-surface-area composite. The experimental results indicate that the high surface area of the water dispersed material, to a large extent, is maintained upon normal drying without the use of any...

Facile fabrication of nickel nanostructures via galvanic replacement reaction in a deep eutectic solvent

We describe an unusual galvanic replacement process for facile synthesis of nickel nanostructures by using Cu as a sacrificial template in a deep eutectic solvent (DES) Ethaline. This replacement process occurred through a Galvanic exchange of [NiCl4] ions in Ethaline at 353 K with an immersed Cu substrate, which acted as both reactive template and reductant. The mechanism for this replacement ...

Deep Eutectic Solvent Synthesis of LiMnPO4/C Nanorods as a Cathode Material for Lithium Ion Batteries

Olivine-type LiMnPO₄/C nanorods were successfully synthesized in a chloride/ethylene glycol-based deep eutectic solvent (DES) at 130 °C for 4 h under atmospheric pressure. As-synthesized samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and electroc...
